Mission To promote South Carolina's education, health, safety, economy, and environment through collaboration, partnerships, and enhanced leadership skills. Summary The Agency Directors Organization (ADO) was established as an unincorporated association of chief executive officers of all state agencies including institutions of higher learning. The ADO Board of Directors is composed of nine (9) members elected by the ADO membership and also includes the directors of the State Budget & Control Board, the Commission on Higher Education, and the Governor’s Cabinet Director who serve on the board as voting ex-officio members. The ADO Board annually elects the ADO officers: a president and vice-president. The purpose of the ADO is to improve the administration and management of state government through enhancing the idea of public service and increasing the opportunities for the exchange of information, programs, and ideas among the members. The ADO usually holds a conference in the fall which is restricted to ADO members and a spring forum, to which Deputy Directors are also invited to attend. The Conference and Forum support the organization in fulfilling its purpose and provide an opportunity for their annual business meeting.
